Midsummer Yin Cool Down

Midsummer is a time we are in full BLOOM! Taking advantage of the SUN in all its brilliance, for new adventures and play! We also want to create time to regenerate, to recharge, to rest. This is a special Yin Yoga event designed specifically to ‘cool down’ the body and calm the mind.

Yin yoga is a cooling practice, it can lower our body temperature, slow our rate of respiration, slow our heart rate, and lower our blood pressure as we activate the parasympathetic nervous
system. Yin yoga helps us to relax body and mind, tune into an inner stillness and tranquility.

Susan Jane Hall will begin by guiding you through conscious breathing and awareness, to begin a purposeful rhythm and establish a Sankalpa (an intention or resolution) for the practice. We will then begin gentle somatic movement to prepare the body for the longer held postures of Yin. The longer held asanas are designed to move the body/mind more deeply into parasympathetic, rest and digest state. This experience will encourage a state of ‘allowing’ rather than engaging effort, asking the body/mind to slow down. We allow a cooling energy to imbue the whole body system. Finally, we will end the experience with Alchemy Crystal Bowl Sound Healing.

The Midsummer ‘Cool’ Down experience creates the opportunity for you to give yourself a needed recharge or reset!
