Kundalini Classes

+ Shala Kundalini + Sound Healing

Experience kundalini yoga and learn about using kriya to change your life.

This class is a unique and transformative experience that blends the energetic power of Kundalini yoga with the fluidity of Vinyasa warm-ups and the healing vibrations of sound therapy. This class promises a journey of self-discovery, balance, and profound relaxation.

We begin with a series of Vinyasa warm-ups, gently awakening the body and synchronizing breath with movement. This prepares you for the dynamic Kundalini portion of the class, where you'll explore Kundalini kriyas (specific sequences of postures and breathwork) designed to awaken your inner energy centers and elevate your consciousness. Whether you're a seasoned yogi or new to Kundalini, modifications will be offered to accommodate all levels.

As you progress through the Kundalini kriya, you'll tap into your inner power and vitality. Kundalini is known for its ability to unlock the dormant energy at the base of the spine, leading to a heightened state of awareness and transformation. Essentially, Kundalini Yoga moves and transforms your energy.

The crowning jewel of this class is the savasana (final relaxation) experience. Here, we incorporate the soothing sounds of gongs and crystal singing bowls, creating a sound healing journey that promotes deep relaxation, stress relief, and inner harmony. The vibrations from these instruments resonate with your body and mind, enhancing your meditative state and leaving you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.

Our experienced teacher will guide you through this dynamic fusion of yoga and sound therapy, providing a safe and supportive space for your practice. This class offers not only physical and mental benefits but also a profound sense of inner peace and balance. Join us on this extraordinary path of self-discovery and healing. Sat Nam.

Class is not heated. 75F in the summer and 80F in the winter.

+ Shala Kundalini FREE

This class is free! These classes can be challenging mentally and physically, yet they are suitable for all levels.

Kundalini kriya is a set of actions for a specific purpose. These purposes could focus on an energetic element, chakras, organs, glands or goals such as overcoming anger and fear. Kriyas can include traditional hatha yoga, calisthenics, rapid and slow movement, breath work, meditation and mantra. There are thousands of kriyas and each class tends to be unique and suited to the time and class intention. Gong and singing bowl sound baths are given in savasana.

Kundalini yoga is an ancient, time-tested system of exercise and meditation that boosts our energy, synchronizes the impulses of our nervous system, releases energetic blockages, balances our hormones, and uplifts our attitude to allow the pure radiance of our authentic self to shine. While other branches of yoga focus primarily on physical postures, kundalini yoga focuses on how the postures alter our energy and mind-set. Postures, movement, breathing, meditation, mantras, and lifestyle come together to bring about remarkable transformations of personal energy.

The term kundalini refers to the concentrated living energy that opens up our potential. It is an energy that is dormant yet calls us to be awakened within. Once activated, it permeates us, energizes our cells to bring health and vitality, and connects our consciousness with the infinite.

Yin, Stress Relief + More

+ Shala Restore

Deeply relax with as your body is completely supported in longer held yoga poses Restorative yoga enables deep relaxation as you holding poses for longer periods of time with the help of props to completely support you.

The main focus of Restorative Yoga is that by relaxing in poses, with the aid of props, without strain or pain, we can achieve physical, mental and emotional relaxation. Restorative yoga classes are very relaxing and slow paced. Props, like blocks, bolsters, blankets and straps are used so that you are supported in your pose comfortably. You will then hold the pose for an extended period of time. This practice is great to balance an active yoga schedule or to give yourself a break when you feel under the weather.

Our parasympathetic nervous system is stimulated when we relax into poses, which promotes a relaxation response and reduces stress in our bodies. The parasympathetic nervous system is responsible for slowing your heart rate and breath and increasing blood flow to your vital organs, among other things.

When you are practicing restorative yoga, you will feel a sense of motionlessness and shapelessness, and this can lead you to feel some emotional discomfort and vulnerability. If this happens, stay with the breath and allow it to pass.

+ Yin + Sound Healing

Welcome to our Yin Yoga and Sound Healing Class, a deeply rejuvenating and transformative experience that combines the meditative practice of Yin yoga with the healing vibrations of alchemy crystal bowls. This practice targets the connective tissues, fascia, and joints, promoting flexibility, mobility, and inner calm. As you settle into each posture, our experienced instructor will guide you through breath work and mindfulness techniques, encouraging a profound sense of presence and relaxation.

The crowning jewel of this class is the Alchemy Crystal Bowl Sound Healing session during the practice and final relaxation. Alchemy crystal bowls are made of pure quartz crystal, gemstones and precious metals that are precisely tuned to create harmonic frequencies that resonate with your body and mind. As the soothing sounds wash over you, you'll experience a sense of tranquility, balance, and energetic alignment.

The combination of Yin yoga and sound healing provides a holistic journey that nurtures both body and spirit. It's an opportunity to release tension, reduce stress, and find inner harmony, leaving you feeling rejuvenated and centered.

+ Shala Yin/Yang Yoga

Yin Yang Yoga blends two styles of yoga into one practice – bringing together the benefits of passively holding yoga poses with more dynamic sequences and standing postures.

Expect to simultaneously relax and work your body in a gently warm room. Enjoy a lovely sound bath at the end of class.

Yin and Yang are the Taoist concepts which describe the two relative qualities present in everything. Yin is more internal, passive, cooling and downward. Yang is more external, dynamic, warming and upward.

When these terms are applied in yoga, Yin Yoga is a slower practice where poses are passively held for longer. It works on the deep, dense (Yin) connective tissues and joints in the body. Yang Yoga, in contrast, refers to a more active practice. This works on the (Yang) muscles and blood flow, building strength, stamina and flexibility. Yang styles of yoga are those with rhythm and repetition like Vinyasa Flow.

+ Private Yoga & Sound Healing Sessions!

We are now hosting private sessions, that can be one-on-one or with two-three individuals! For more information, click here.

+ Shala Tantra

Tantric Flow is a blend of traditional tantric hatha movements that combine static and dynamic postures to bring alignment to the spine and balance to the mind. This class combines pranayama (breathwork), asana (poses/postures), and meditation. The physical movement and breathwork help release stuck energy and the stillness of meditation strengthens your mind and awareness. Each class will have a theme/purpose for the body/mind/spirit connection. Some practices will be more grounding and calming, while other classes will focus on uplifting energy - vitalizing the body and mind. Regardless of the theme you’ll always receive the balancing effect of a quality savasana, closing breathwork and meditation.

This class is for everyone, it’s focus is to bring multiple aspects of yoga into one practice.

The room is heated with infrared.

+ Hot Buti Yoga

Buti Yoga is a unique blend of vinyasa yoga, tribal dance, primal movement, belly dance, conditioning, and abdominal toning. Through the spiral structure technique, Buti classes aim to release and tone the body on physical, emotional, and energetic levels. By incorporating primal movement, dynamic asana, and cardio-sprints, students are encouraged to break through emotional barriers and cultivate self-love, human connection, and inner transformation. The term "Buti" originates from the Indian Marathi language, meaning "a hidden or secret cure."
